History
After belonging to the local native inhabitants, the land that
today occupies estancia Chapal-Có was bought
by a traditional Argentinean family, its present proprietors. The estancia,
situated near the town of General Rodríguez and dedicated
to agriculture activities and cattle breeding, witnessed many events
of argentine history that wants to share with you.
It is said that Eva Perón, ex president
Perón´s wife, spent three of her last days in the estancia.
This region of Buenos Aires province is called
High Córdoba because of the similarity with
the air of that argentinian province, which is said to have healing
properties. For this reason, it was chosen by Perón´s
wife to rest during her agony.
As a consequence of her stay, the government installed the first
telephone line in General Rodríguez.
